Settings reference

Every option in the popup and the options page, and what each one does.

Audio-only, which can reduce battery and data use during long listens, is ready after installation alongside background play. The popup keeps those everyday controls close, while the options page holds supporting features and finer choices. Settings take effect immediately and are stored locally in Firefox.

  • Audio-only replaces a supported video’s source with direct audio. Turn it off to restore video at the same position.
  • Background play keeps playback going when a tab is hidden or an Android phone is locked.
  • Pause YouTube Audio temporarily disables the whole add-on without changing saved preferences.
  • Status and blocking summary report what is actually happening on the current page, including fallback to normal playback.

Options page

The page is grouped and searchable:

  • Quick Controls repeats pause, audio-only, and background play.
  • Playback disables autoplay next and caps normal video quality.
  • Privacy and Blocking controls ads, Ghost mode, and the more disruptive aggressive telemetry option.
  • Skipping enables SponsorBlock timings and chooses sponsor or non-music categories.
  • Cleaner YouTube hides Shorts, recommendations, or comments independently.
  • Music controls YouTube Music loudness normalization and five EQ bands.
  • Downloads shows or hides the in-player save-audio button.

Most essentials are enabled by default. Segment skipping, cleaner controls, aggressive telemetry blocking, EQ, and downloads wait for you to turn them on. Use Reset to defaults under Advanced if you want the original setup back.

Help and feedback

The options page can assemble a readable diagnostics log with general browser and device details, setting states, limited counts, and recent extension events. Review it, copy it, export it to a local Markdown file, or clear it locally. It is designed not to record watched videos, searches, or typed text.
